We are excited to share the Reparations & Earth Restoration Initiative, Anti-Oppression Medicinal Herb & Food PermaGarden. The Permagarden is being installed at Transition Projects’ Argyle Gardens, a 72-unit deeply affordable housing complex for Portlander’s who are low-income and/or formerly experienced homelessness. The Permagarden will provide an abundance of food and medicinal plants to support the residents. The Permagarden space will be for the residents of Argyle Gardens to use as they decide, giving them power and honoring their unique perspectives. The garden will offer opportunities for connection and healing. A true act of anti-oppression.
Using creative placemaking we’ll intentionally leverage the power of nature, arts, and culture to serve the residents of Argyle Gardens interest while driving a broader agenda for change, growth and transformation in a way that also honors character and quality of place. It will allow organizations like yours to show tangible support to the resilient residents of Argyle Gardens.

About
The Reparations and Earth Restoration Initiative is a plan and a promise to reclaim, restore and repay land access, stewardship and ownership among Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and other marginalized communities throughout the Portland Metro area.
Our First Project
We’ve partnered with community members, neighborhood associations & non-profit The City Repair project who is fiscally sponsoring us in our first act of land reclamation in the Portland metro area.
The Anti-Oppression PermaGarden will provide the residents of Argyle Gardens, a 72-unit transitional housing complex, a space for nourishment, shelter, and community gathering.
